Planning Your Trip
The key to getting a good spot at a RV resort is to plan ahead at lest 6 months in advance of the date of when you plan to arrive. For some parks a year is not too far ahead, as the good parks often sell out quickly depending on the season and special events.
We have booked most of our stays a year in advance, which is about as far ahead as you can plan. We have fond that most resorts/parks only book 365 days in advance, with some seasonal being much shorter. But if you want that premium spot, better plan as far in advance as you can. Be sure to review and be cautious of the resort/park cancelation policies. When we review parks, which we post in RV Life, we note if their policy is strict or unusual.
Money & Travel
We don't carry or use much cash as RV parks/resorts don't take cash for the most part. We do find cash handy for the off the wall purchase of wood for burning and ice. Check the site your going to stay at to see what types of payment they take and what events are going on that you might need cash for, buying odd items like worms for fishing is often best with cash, for example.

Bring both cold and warm clothing as it often gets chilly at night even in the heat of the summer, you are going to be outside a lot after all and its likely going to rain at some point so be prepared for that. It never seem to fail to rain when we are setting up or taking down camp. Joy purchased these rain suites (pant & coat) that helps keep me dry when I have to dump tanks, and put stuff away. She got them on Amazon of course.
Get Inspired
Find what your passion is. Fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking, bird watching, or just see what is out there that this awesome plant has to share with us. We do it all, but we do have a Bucket list that you should check out and let us know if you think we should put something on the list, we love hearing about places to visit which is what our journey is really all about. Our list changes based on our travel destination and time we have, while 3 to 4 years seems like a lot, its really not when you consider how big the United States is and what it all has to offer and to see it all and do it all while also relaxing and taking in the view, it's like life, there is never enough time to do it all.
