Hot Air Balloon Fiesta!

One of our favorite adventures was the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival, AKA Fiesta! This should be on everyone's bucket list, you don't have to go up in one to appreciate these magnificent balloons, but I highly recommend you do sign up for a balloon ride with Rainbow Riders. They are the only ones who can take off from the same field as all the other Balloons.

I recommend attending both a morning and an evening event and indulging in one of the special boxes for a complete experience. Be prepared to wake up very early, around 3:30 am, to avoid waiting on the street or in the parking lot and missing most of the morning events. I have so many pictures of these things in the air, but they don't do justice to being there to see it for yourself, the sounds of the burners and the heat from the flames won't show up in any pictures.
