The Long Way Home…

Of all the sites we have been to and the fun we have had already; the long drive back to our coach after visiting the Grand Canyon is near the top of my list. I don't generally like to drive for the sake of driving, but on our way back from Grand Canyon West we opted to take the long way home, which is a great song by Supertramp, also a good song to listen to when you take the old Route 66 dive in northern Arizona! It is definitely worth the time and you won't regret seeing the beautiful sites along the way.

Most of the road is single lane and not in great condition, but most of the roads in Arizona are in horrible condition including the interstate highways of I17, I40, and I10. Take your time stop into some of the small towns and you will get a sense of what it was like before the interstate highways came along and turned most of the small towns into ghost towns.
